RESULTS

In 2008, the Next Generation Diving Team won the team title at the YMCA Diving
Championships.  The Next Generation Diving Team has had 3 U.S. Diving Junior National qualifiers, 5 U.S. Diving East Junior National Qualifiers, 2 AAU National Champions, 18 AAU National Qualifiers with 11 finalists, and 5 YMCA National Champions.

In April 2010, our team competed at the YMCA Nationals . Our then head coach, Ryan Moehnke, who was also the head diving coach at Yale University, was honored with the prestigious Robert "Moose" Moss award, which is given to a coach, athlete or administrator who embodies the values of the YMCA.

The award is named for the legendary diving coach "Moose" Moss, who, in the 1960's,
built a small diving facility on his farm in Moultrie, Georgia (New York Times article).
That facility has grown to become one of the best outdoor facilities in the country, where several Olympians have trained, and has been the site of many national and
international diving meets. Few coaches in the country have done as much as Moss to
promote the sport of diving, and for Ryan Moehnke to be awarded this honor is truly
indicative of Ryan's dedication to his divers, to the sport, and to the values of the YMCA.

Our divers had outstanding performances as well:

Tyler Pramer of Norwalk took second place on both the 1 meter and 3 meter
mens 16-21 events.

Bill Moran of Norwalk was 9th in both the 1 meter and 3 meter mens 16-21
events.

Robert McCrory of Fairfield was 8th in both the 1 meter and 3 meter boys
12-15 events.

Christina Brasco of Weston was 5th in the 1 meter event and 6th in the 3
meter 16-21 womens event.

Schaefer Andrews of Westport was 13th in both the 1 meter and 3 meter 16-21
womens event.

Michelle Mastrianni of Westport was 15th on 1 meter and 16th on 3 meter
16-21 womens event.

Kylie More of Fairfield was 9th on both the 1 meter and 3 meter girls 12-15
events.

Hannah Schroeder of Weston was 11th on 1 meter and 10th on 3 meter girls
12-15 events.

Our men's team finished 4th overall, our women's team finished 4th overall,
and our full team finished 4th overall this year.

Results from the 2009 Winter Blast:

In the 14-15 girls one meter event, Kylie was 3rd and Hannah was 5th. In
16-18 JO events, Christina and Tyler won both boards, and both achieved a
qualifying score for AAU Nationals. Schaefer was 6th on 1-meter and 4th on
3-meter. Billy was 3rd on 1-meter in the JO event. Liam took second place
in the 11&u JO event on 1 meter, and qualified for AAU Nationals. Robert
dove 12-13 JO both boards, and finished second in both events, qualifying
for AAU Nationals in both events.

In the novice events, Cassandra took first both boards in the 9&u events.
In 14-15 girls one-meter, Victoria took second place and Fiona took third.
On three meter, Kylie was 3rd, Hannah 4th, Fiona 5th and Victoria 6th. In
the 10-11 3 meter novice event, Liam took first place. In the 14-15 boys
novice events, Jesse was 1st on 1 meter and 2nd on 3 meter. And in 16-18
boys 3-meter novice, Billy was 1st.
